IB Career-Related Programme (IB CP)
The International Baccalaureate Career-related
Programme (IBCP) was introduced by the International Baccalaureate (IB) in 2012
to provide students with a rigorous educational pathway that combines academic
study with career-related learning. The IBCP is designed for students who wish
to engage in career-related education while developing the values, attributes
and international-mindedness that are central to an IB education.
The programme provides a flexible framework that
integrates academic courses with career-related studies, enabling students to
develop subject knowledge, practical and transferable skills, critical
thinking, and intercultural understanding. The IBCP prepares students for a
wide range of progression pathways, including university, higher education,
apprenticeships and employment.
At Emirates International School Jumeirah (EISJ),
students following the IBCP study three International Baccalaureate Diploma
Programme (IBDP) courses: English Language and Literature, a Language
Acquisition course, and one additional subject chosen from the remaining
subject options. Alongside these courses, all students complete the four
compulsory components of the IBCP core: Personal and Professional Skills (PPS),
the Reflective Project, Community Engagement and Language and Culture Studies.
The career-related study at EISJ is delivered through a Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Diploma. Students may choose to study either the BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in Business or the BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in Sport, Business and Management, providing them with industry-relevant knowledge and skills alongside their IB studies.
