Emirates International School Jumeirah has a very proud history of sporting accomplishments in Dubai. All teams are entered into the DASSA Competitions and Dubai School Games competitions. The DASSA league provides a platform for students to challenge themselves at the highest levels while fostering personal growth and promoting excellence in both sports and academics.

Teams are selected through trials that are highly competitive. After careful consideration in a thorough selection process that assesses the students ability in a variety of disciplines from technical skills, fitness, teamwork, and discipline, which are key components of success in the league. 

For those students selected, in teams this gives them an opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills, particularly those developed through the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which emphasizes principles like collaboration, responsibility, and service. 

Support and guidance are provided to students who excel and represent their home country in a professional and structured manner, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed both on and off the field. PE Department offers tailored training programs that focus on skill development, physical conditioning, and mental preparation, helping athletes reach their full potential. This holistic approach not only helps students thrive in their athletic pursuits but also instills the values of leadership, perseverance, and resilience as they represent their country in prestigious competitions.

Our sports facilities include an outdoor, fully shaded, temperature-controlled 25m pool,  three multi-purpose sports-halls, a gymnasium complete with cardio and strength training machines, basketball courts and two grass fields, one full 11v11 a-side size grass pitch, a long jump pit, and a shot put pit.  

MYP Level - BTEC International Level 2 Sport

BTEC International Level 2 Sport is a vocational qualification that offers an excellent opportunity for students to not only learn about the world of sport but also to develop important life skills that will benefit them in their future studies and careers.This qualification is ideal for students who have an interest in sports and want to explore it both theoretically and practically. The course is made up of three pieces of coursework, therefore, there is no exam at the end. The students will engage in a series of units, 

• Principle of Fitness and Fitness testing
• Practical Sports Performance 
• Personal Training Fitness Program

CP Level - BTEC International Level 3 Sport, Business and Management

BTEC Level 3 Sport, Business, and Management. This program gives the students an opportunity to continue to study a range of aspects from sport and business and is tailored to fit the candidates at EISJ. This dynamic program is designed for students who are passionate about sports and are interested in the business and management aspects of the sports industry. The BTEC Level 3 course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for a range of careers in the sport and fitness sector. Explore essential business concepts while developing an understanding of how they apply to sports management and marketing. This is a two-year, full-time study program. The qualification supports progression to higher education as it is equivalent in grades to two International A-levels.
